Okay, let’s talk about this Ducati Scrambler Sixty2 I got my hands on. To be honest, I’ve always been a fan of the Ducati Scrambler series, you know, it’s not just a bike, it’s a statement. So, when I heard about the Sixty2, which is like the younger sibling of the Scrambler family, I knew I had to give it a try.

First thing I did was, of course, to check its specs. It’s got this 399 cc engine, and it’s a 2-seater. Pretty standard stuff, you know? The size is decent too – 2150 mm long and 860 mm wide, with a wheelbase of 1460 mm. Nothing too crazy, just what you’d expect from a bike in this class. And it’s air-cooled, which means it might get a bit hot, especially when you compare it to those liquid-cooled ones. But hey, that’s part of the charm, right?

Now, when I first saw the bike, I was like, “Wow, it’s almost the same as the 800cc version!” It has got those cool looks, you know. But there are some differences. For example, this one’s got a narrower rear wheel and a higher handlebar, which gives it a more classic Scrambler vibe compared to the 803cc, which is more like, how do they call it, “Flattracker”? And, of course, the tank on the Sixty2, it’s just stunning.

Getting it Ready

  • Fueling up: First things first, I had to put some gas in it. It’s got indirect fuel injection, so it’s pretty efficient.
  • Checking the vitals: Made sure the oil level was good, tires were properly inflated, and all that basic stuff. Can’t be too careful, you know?

Next up was to take it for a ride. Now, I’ve only got my old Suzuki DRZ supermoto to compare it to, and let me tell you, they’re like night and day. The Ducati is much lower and more, how do I say it, “planted” on the road. It feels really stable and responsive, especially around corners.

Taking it for a Spin

  • Starting her up: The engine has a nice little rumble, not too loud, but enough to make you feel good.
  • Hitting the road: It’s surprisingly smooth for an air-cooled engine. I took it on some back roads and a bit of highway.
  • Playing around: Tried some quick turns, some acceleration, and braking. It handles really well, feels light and nimble. I can see why people love these Scramblers so much.

After riding it around for a while, I got a pretty good feel for it. It’s definitely a fun bike, easy to handle, and it looks great. It is perfect for someone who is just getting into riding or someone who wants a stylish bike for cruising around town. I even heard it can go up to 115 mph, but I didn’t test that out, safety first, you know?

I must say, this Ducati Scrambler Sixty2 is a solid choice. It’s a well-made machine that’s fun to ride and easy on the eyes. I am glad that I took it for a ride and test it out.
