Okay, so I’ve been seeing this question pop up a lot online: “Does Mercedes make motorcycles?” It got me curious, so I decided to do some digging myself. Here’s how I went about it, and what I found out.

My Little Investigation
First, I did what anyone would do – I fired up Google. I typed in “Mercedes motorcycles” and, well, the results were pretty mixed. I saw some articles talking about Mercedes and MV Agusta (an Italian motorcycle brand) having some kind of partnership, but nothing concrete about Mercedes actually making their own bikes.
Next, I checked out the official Mercedes-Benz website. I figured, if anyone knows, it’s them, right? I poked around their “vehicles” section, looking for anything two-wheeled. Nope. Just cars, vans, trucks, buses… the usual stuff. No motorcycles in sight.
So, then I went down the rabbit hole of the Mercedes-AMG connection. Since AMG is their performance division, I thought maybe, just maybe, they might have a secret motorcycle project hidden away. Again, I scrolled through their site. Lots of very fast, very expensive cars, but still no bikes. Hmm.
- Hit up forums and fan pages.
- Looked into some of those articles mentioning MV Agusta more carefully.
Turns out, Mercedes-AMG did own a chunk of MV Agusta for a few years, but they sold it off. So, that was a dead end too. It seems that those collaborations are about it.
Finally, I landed on the conclusion that, no, Mercedes-Benz does not make motorcycles. They might have partnerships or past connections with motorcycle companies, but they don’t actually produce their own two-wheeled machines. My quest was over. Mystery solved!
