Okay, so, today I wanna talk about how I ended up setting up my grill for BelgicaM 2024. It was a journey, let me tell you.

First off, I had to figure out what kind of grill I even wanted. I mean, there are tons of options out there. Gas, charcoal, electric… you name it. After a lot of back and forth, and reading a bunch of stuff online, I decided to go with a charcoal grill. There’s just something about that smoky flavor that you can’t beat, you know?
Next up, I started looking for the specific model. I stumbled upon this “Parrilla madrid mod 422” thing online. It looked super fancy with its black sheet metal finish and those classic-looking drawers. It seemed like a solid choice, although it was a bit on the pricier side.
While I was doing all this research, I also came across some tips for attending some sort of competition at a “A La Parrilla Fest 2024”. Sounded interesting, but I wasn’t planning on competing. Still, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to learn a few things, just in case.
Now, while I was getting all excited about grilling, I also got distracted by some sports stuff. Apparently, there’s this big soccer event, EURO 2024, happening around the same time, from June 14 to July 14. And they changed the format of some other soccer league, the Champions League, for the 2024/25 season. I’m not a huge sports fan, but it was kind of cool to see how big these events are.
Oh, and I also read that Paris is hosting the Olympics and Paralympics this summer. That’s gonna be massive!

Anyway, back to the grill. I spent hours, maybe even days, comparing different models, reading reviews, and watching videos. Finally, I made up my mind and ordered the Parrilla Madrid mod 422. It was a bit of a splurge, but hey, you only live once, right?
When it finally arrived, I was like a kid on Christmas morning. I assembled it right away, which took a bit of time, but it wasn’t too difficult. And let me tell you, it looked even better in person than it did online.
I’ve been using it a few times now, and I gotta say, I’m loving it. The food tastes amazing, and it’s just a fun experience overall. I even tried making some pork chops, and they turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself. There are even tips online for how to prepare pork chops!
So yeah, that’s how I ended up with my current grill setup for BelgicaM 2024. It was a bit of a process, but I’m really happy with how it turned out.
- Started with figuring out the type of grill (charcoal for the win!).
- Found a fancy-looking model online (Parrilla Madrid mod 422).
- Got sidetracked by some sports news (EURO 2024, Champions League, Olympics).
- Ordered the grill after lots of research.
- Assembled it and started grilling!
It’s been a fun ride, and I’m excited to keep grilling and experimenting with new recipes. Who knows, maybe I’ll even enter that competition at A La Parrilla Fest next year!
