Well, guys, let me tell you about this little experiment I did today. I’ve always been curious about how fast these pro athletes really are, especially Christian McCaffrey. I mean, the guy is a beast on the field, right? So, I decided to put his 40-yard dash time to the test, in my own way.

First off, I found a clear space. Not exactly a football field, but it’ll do. I marked out 40 yards as best as I could. No fancy laser timers here, just good old-fashioned measuring and marking.
I did some stretches, you know, gotta warm up those muscles. Didn’t want to pull anything trying to be a speed demon. Then, I got a buddy of mine to time me with a stopwatch. Not the most accurate, I know, but hey, we’re keeping it real here.
I took off, trying to channel my inner McCaffrey. I pumped my arms, and legs. Felt like I was flying, at least for the first few yards, hah! My buddy yelled out the time when I crossed the “finish line”. Let’s just say, I won’t be breaking any NFL records soon. But it was a fun little experiment.
I did a few more runs, trying different starting stances, just messing around, really. Each time, I was nowhere near McCaffrey’s reported 4.48 seconds. I mean, I knew I wouldn’t be, but it’s crazy to think about just how fast these guys are, and just think about how fast is 4.48 seconds!
After a few sprints, I decided to look up some more info on McCaffrey. Turns out, he was also a track and field guy, which makes sense. He even had a wind-assisted 10.75 seconds in the 100-meter dash back in high school. I also found his 40-yard time was about 4.47 seconds. No wonder he’s so good at dodging tackles!

My Conclusion
- First, trying to match a pro athlete’s speed is way harder than it looks.
- Second, Christian McCaffrey is seriously fast. 4.48 seconds, or 4.47 seconds, in the 40-yard dash is no joke.
- Third, I need to stick to blogging and leave the sprinting to the pros!
Anyway, it was a fun day testing myself and getting a new appreciation for the athleticism of these football stars. Maybe next time, I’ll try something a little less… physically demanding. What do you guys think I should try next?
