Okay, so I wanted to see what the view was like from different seats at a Cubs game, right? So I started looking around.

First, I tried to find some pictures online. Just regular photos that people took at games. That was kinda hit or miss. Some were okay, but most were, you know, just random phone pics. Not super helpful for really figuring out the view.
Then, I remembered there are those 3D seat view things! I went and checked a couple of different ticket-selling websites. They usually have this feature.
My Exploration Process
- Clicked around on the interactive map. You know, the one where you can pick a section and see the view?
- Tried out a few different sections, high up, low down, behind home plate, down the lines. Just to get a feel for it.
- Zoomed in and out, panned around. Pretended I was actually sitting there, you know?
It’s actually pretty cool! You can get a pretty good sense of what you’ll be able to see. Obviously, it’s not the exact same as being there, but it’s way better than nothing. And way better than just guessing based on a seating chart.
I even compared some of the “obstructed view” seats. Sometimes the “obstruction” is, like, a tiny pole that barely blocks anything. Other times, it’s like you’re staring straight at a wall. So that was super helpful to see.
It will be very helpful to me to choose a good seat, Go Cubs!
