Okay, so I’ve been seeing these crazy Oregon football uniforms all over the internet, and I finally decided to dive in and see what all the fuss was about. I’ve always been a bit of a uniform geek, so this was right up my alley.

First, I started by just looking at pictures. Lots and lots of pictures. I mean, Oregon has like a million different combinations, right? So I spent a good chunk of time just scrolling through Google Images, trying to get a feel for the overall aesthetic.
Digging Deeper
Then, I moved on to trying to find some kind of official source. It turned out to find some of the concept and uniform detail from a fan blog, it’s a bit of a maze, but they did have some cool breakdowns of specific uniform sets. They talked about the colors, the materials, and even some of the design inspirations. Very Detailed!
- I learned that Oregon’s relationship with Nike is a HUGE part of this whole thing.
- I also discovered that they rarely, if ever, wear the same uniform combination twice. That’s insane!
- I found out, there are so many different helmets, jerseys, pants, socks, and even shoe combinations. Crazy numbers!
Making Sense of it All
After all that research, I finally felt like I had a decent handle on the Oregon uniform situation.
I created a simple list in my phone, categorize some of the most common elements I saw. And categorize the elements by color, material, pattern, and logo, to record what I had found.

It’s clear that Oregon and Nike are constantly pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with uniform design. And honestly, whether you love them or hate them, you have to admit they’re doing something unique. I’m still not sure I could pull off some of those looks, but I definitely appreciate the creativity!
