Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into the Pokemon TCG lately, and the Obsidian Flames set has been calling my name. Specifically, that Charizard ex card – the artwork is just chef’s kiss. So, I decided, “You know what? I’m gonna try and pull that bad boy.”

The Hunt Begins
First things first, I hit up my local game store. I love supporting local businesses, and honestly, the vibe in a good card shop is unmatched. I grabbed a few Obsidian Flames booster packs, feeling that electric anticipation as I walked to the counter.
I also decided to order a booster box online. Gotta maximize those chances, right? It felt like a bit of an investment, but hey, sometimes you gotta treat yourself (and hopefully, get that Charizard).
Opening the Packs
The real fun begins! I ripped open those first few packs from the game store, one by one. Each time, I flipped through the cards slowly, savoring the moment. Got some decent pulls, a few holos, even a couple of ex cards (no Charizard yet, though!).
When the booster box arrived, it was like Christmas morning. 36 packs of potential! I paced myself, opening a few packs each day. It’s like a little ritual, you know? Coffee, a comfy chair, and the sound of tearing foil. It’s the little things.
The Results (and the Feels)
- I have to be real, in opening those booster boxes I did not get Charizard EX.
- Lots of duplicates. It happens, it’s the nature of the game. I’ll probably trade them or give them to some younger players at the card shop.
- Some awesome pulls! While the Charizard ex is a good one, I did manage to get a couple of nice.
- The hunt continues! I’m not giving up. I’ll keep grabbing packs here and there, and who knows, maybe I’ll get lucky. Even if I don’t, it’s still a blast.
Even though I didn’t get the Charizard, it was still super fun. It’s not just about the big pulls, it’s about the whole experience, the community, and the thrill of the chase. Plus, I got a bunch of new cards for my collection, and that’s always a win!
