Canadians Playing in Scandinavia Soccer: Why Are They Choosing These Leagues?

Well, let me tell you, I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout them Canadians playing soccer in Scandinavia. Sounds like a mouthful, don’t it? But I guess them young’uns are runnin’ all over the place kickin’ that ball. Soccer, they call it. Back in my day, we just called it kickball. Ain’t that somethin’?

Seems like there’s a whole bunch of ’em over there, playin’ in them… what’s it called? Leagues? Yeah, leagues. Like them baseball leagues, but for soccer. They got different names for ’em, like… Canadian Premier League, and some other one called, uh, MLS? That one sounds important. My grandson, he watches it on the TV sometimes, gets all riled up.

Canadians Playin’ in Other Countries

I heard someone say soccer’s gettin’ real big in Canada. Used to be all about that hockey, with the sticks and the ice and all that. But now these young folks, they’re all about the soccer. I guess things change, huh? These Canadian soccer players are good, real good.

They say them Scandinavian teams are pretty good, too. I don’t know much ’bout that, but I hear they’re tough. Like, real tough. So, these Canadian soccer players goin’ over there to play, they must be somethin’ special. They say it’s like… Germany, or somethin’. I don’t know what that means, but it sounds fancy.

  • Lots of Canadians playin’ soccer now.
  • They go play in Scandinavia, where it’s cold, I bet.
  • They got leagues over there, just like we got leagues here.
  • Soccer’s gettin’ big in Canada, not just hockey anymore.

The Big Leagues

This Major League Soccer, that’s the big one, I think. They got teams in Canada, too. One in Toronto, I heard. And another one somewhere else. Vancouver, maybe? Sounds like a nice place. They started playin’ there a while back, 2011, I think someone said. Time sure does fly. Seems like there’s lots of interest in them Canadian players.

It’s good to see them young’uns doin’ well. Makin’ a name for themselves, travelin’ the world. Playin’ that soccer game. It’s a good thing, I reckon. Keeps ’em outta trouble, gives ’em somethin’ to do. And who knows, maybe they’ll even make some money doin’ it.

I remember when my boy used to play ball. Wasn’t soccer, though. He played baseball. He was a good pitcher, too. But he never went off to play in no foreign country. Stayed right here, close to home. But these Canadians playing soccer in Scandinavia, that’s somethin’ else. Brave kids.

The Future of Soccer in Canada

They say soccer’s growin’ real fast in Canada. More and more kids playin’ it. They even got women playin’ it, too. Imagine that! Back in my day, women didn’t play sports like that. Times sure are changin’. But it’s good, I think. Good for them girls to get out there and play.

So, yeah, them Canadians playing soccer in Scandinavia, it’s a big deal. Puttin’ Canada on the map, they say. Makin’ a name for themselves. And who knows, maybe one day, they’ll be the best in the world. Wouldn’t that be somethin’? Just gotta keep kickin’ that ball, I guess.

I reckon that’s all I know about it. It’s a bit confusin’, all these leagues and teams and whatnot. But the gist of it is, Canadian soccer players are doin’ good. And they’re playin’ all over the place, even in Scandinavia. Good for them. I hope they do well. These soccer players should play good game.

What about those women?

They’re callin’ it a friendly, but it sounds mighty serious to me. April 11th, they’re headin’ over to France to play. Now, France ain’t exactly next door, mind you. That’s a long way to go for a game of kickball, if you ask me. But these girls, they’re dedicated. Gotta give ’em credit for that. They’re just as good as these Canadian soccer players if not better!

They say they’re gonna be gone for a while, trainin’ and gettin’ ready. Lots of practice, I suppose. You gotta be in tip-top shape to play at that level. Not like me, these bones ain’t what they used to be. I get winded just walkin’ to the mailbox these days. Yep, these ladies are somethin’ else. Tough cookies, all of ’em. I bet they give them French girls a run for their money.

It ain’t just a game, you know. It’s about pride. Representin’ your country and all that. I remember back in the war, the boys, they felt that same way. Fightin’ for somethin’ bigger than themselves. These girls, they’re doin’ the same thing, just in a different way. Makin’ their country proud. And that’s somethin’ to admire, ain’t it? I hope these women win like those Canadians playing soccer in Scandinavia.
