Okay, so I’ve been hearing a lot about pickleball lately. It seems like everyone is playing it! I decided to see what all the fuss was about, and, well, I’m in Australia, so I figured I’d look into “pickleball Australia.”

Getting Started
First, I googled “pickleball Australia” to get a sense of the scene down under. I found a bunch of websites and articles. It seems pretty popular!
Finding a Court
Next, I wanted to find somewhere to actually play. I checked a few of the websites that came up, and some listed local clubs and courts.
- I noticed some were dedicated pickleball facilities.
- Others were shared spaces with tennis or badminton courts.
Trying It Out (Finally!)
I managed to find a local park with some marked pickleball lines on a tennis court. I borrowed a paddle and ball from a friend who’s already into it. It was… interesting.
I tried to get a feel for it, at the begining, the playing method and experience are not that good.
My First Impressions
It’s definitely easier on the joints than tennis, which is good for me. I sweated a bit, so it’s a decent workout. I can see why people get hooked! It felt kind of like a mix of tennis, badminton, and ping pong, all rolled into one.

I learned how to play pickleball!
What’s Next?
I’m definitely going to play again. I might even join one of the local clubs I found online. I need to get my own paddle, though! It’s surprisingly fun, and I can see myself playing this regularly. I think I just became part of the pickleball Australia crew!
