Okay, so I’ve been wanting to freshen up my desktop background for a while now. I’m a huge baseball fan, and Ken Griffey Jr. was always my favorite player growing up. So I thought, why not find a cool Ken Griffey Jr. wallpaper?

First Try
First I opened up my browser and typed in “Ken Griffey Jr. wallpaper.” I clicked on images, and there were tons of options! Most of them were just action shots of him playing, which is cool, but I wanted something a bit different.
- I saw a few with him in his Mariners uniform, which I liked.
- I scrolled, and scrolled, and scrolled.
- There were also some of him with the Reds, but I preferred the Mariners ones, you know, more iconic for me.
Narrowing Down
After looking through a bunch, I decided I wanted something that felt a little more artistic, maybe a bit retro. I added “vintage” to my search, and that helped a lot.
- I found one that was like a drawing of him, almost like a baseball card, but it was too cartoonish for my taste.
- Then I saw one that was a close-up of him at bat, with a kind of grainy filter over it. It looked pretty cool, but still not quite right.
Bingo!
Finally, I stumbled upon the perfect one! It’s a shot of him mid-swing, with his classic follow-through, but it’s silhouetted against a sunset. The colors are all warm oranges and reds, and it just has this awesome, classic vibe. I knew right away that was the one.
I downloaded it, set it as my desktop background, and bam! It looks amazing. Every time I see my computer, I get a little dose of baseball nostalgia. It totally brightens up my day. Now, just gotta find one for my phone.
