So, I gotta tell you guys about this thing I did recently. It’s called the Jet Academy, and it’s basically a basketball camp, but get this – it’s all online! Yeah, you heard that right, a virtual basketball camp. It’s run by Kenny “The Jet” Smith, you know, the two-time NBA champ and Emmy-winning analyst guy. He’s the real deal. I signed up because my usual summer camp was a no-go this year.

At first, I was like, “How’s this even gonna work?” Basketball is all about running around, shooting hoops, and playing with other people, right? But I figured, why not give it a shot? I mean, it’s Kenny Smith! The guy’s a legend. Plus, I was just sitting at home anyway, nothing better to do, right? So I signed up.

  • I went to the website, and it was pretty easy to navigate.
  • Filled out some forms, you know the usual stuff.
  • Paid the fee, which wasn’t too bad, considering.
  • Then, boom! I was in.

The camp itself was pretty cool, I gotta admit. We had these live video sessions where Kenny and some other NBA and WNBA players, even Victor Oladipo from the Indiana Pacers, would teach us different drills and stuff. They showed us how to dribble better, improve our shooting form, and even some defensive moves.

It Was a Lot of Fun!

It was kinda weird doing all this in my living room, but I got used to it. Plus, I could practice whenever I wanted, which was a bonus. They had these videos you could watch on your own time, too. I spent hours just practicing my jump shot in my backyard. I think my neighbors started to get annoyed, but who cares, right?

The best part was the Q&A sessions. We got to ask Kenny and the other players anything we wanted. It was like having your own personal basketball coach, but way cooler because it was Kenny Smith! I even got to ask him about his playing days, and he told us some awesome stories. He’s a really funny and nice guy.

It wasn’t the same as a real-life camp, obviously. I missed playing actual games with other kids. But honestly, it was a great experience. I learned a lot, improved my skills, and got to interact with some of my basketball heroes. If you’re a basketball fan, or just looking for something to do during these crazy times, I’d definitely recommend checking out the Jet Academy. It’s a slam dunk!
