So, I got this random idea to look up the average height in Russia. I don’t know why, it just popped into my head. Maybe I saw a tall Russian dude somewhere, I don’t remember. Anyway, I figured, why not? Let’s see what the internet has to say about it.

First thing I did was fire up my browser and hit up Google. Typed in “average height in Russia” and boom, tons of results. Mostly news articles, some statistical websites, and a few forum discussions. I started clicking through a few of them, just to get a general idea.
Most of the sources seemed to agree that the average height for men in Russia is around 176-178 cm. For women, it was somewhere around 165-166 cm. That didn’t seem too surprising, pretty average I’d say.
I decided to dig a bit deeper. I found this one website, can’t remember the name, but it had a whole database of average heights by country. It even had historical data, which was pretty cool. I could see how the average height in Russia has changed over the years.
- According to some old data I found on that site, the average height in the 19th century was a lot shorter.
- It seems like people have been getting taller over time, which makes sense. Better nutrition and all that.
What Did I Find?
After browsing through a bunch of websites, I think it is not a difficult thing to get the data I want. The average height for Russian men is around 176-178 cm, and for women, it’s about 165-166 cm. It’s interesting to see how these numbers compare to other countries, and how they’ve changed over time.
So yeah, that’s pretty much my little adventure into the world of Russian height statistics. Not the most exciting thing I’ve ever done, but hey, you learn something new every day, right?
