Okay, so today I decided to dive into the Atlas vs. Club Tijuana match. I’ve been meaning to do a proper analysis of a Liga MX game, and this one seemed like a good pick.

First things first, I needed to gather some data. I started by looking up the recent results for both teams. I just googled “Atlas recent matches” and “Club Tijuana recent matches”. I skimmed through a few websites that popped up – you know, the usual sports news sites and the official league page. I didn’t spend too much time here, just wanted a general feel for their current form.
Then, I tried to find the starting lineups. This was a bit trickier. Sometimes the official team Twitter accounts post them, but I’ve found it is not always reliable. I ended up checking a couple of different sports news websites. It took a few minutes, but I managed to piece together what I think were the probable starting 11 for each side.
Watching the Game (and Taking Notes!)
Next up, the main event: watching the match! I have my ways to find some LiveStreams of the game. As I watched, I kept a notepad open on my laptop. I wasn’t trying to write down every single pass, but I made sure to note:
- Key moments: Goals, obviously, but also big saves, red cards, and any controversial calls.
- Tactical observations: How did each team set up? Did they seem to be focusing on attack, defense, or a balanced approach? Did I notice any particular matchups that seemed important?
- Standout players: Anyone who really caught my eye, for better or worse.
It wasn’t the prettiest game, to be honest. Lots of scrappy play in midfield. But, that’s sometimes how it goes, right? I made sure to note the times of the goals and who scored them, of course.
Post-Match Thoughts
After the final whistle, I jotted down some quick thoughts while they were still fresh in my mind. Things like, “Atlas really struggled to break down Tijuana’s defense” or “Tijuana’s goalkeeper had a solid game.” Just my own personal opinions, really.

Finally, I wrote it all down, from gathering information to after-match thought, and I’m glad to record every step, It is helpful to improve my analysis skill.
