Okay, so I’ve been hitting the gym pretty hard lately, and I decided to try out this thing called the “Arnold Split.” Yeah, it’s named after Arnold Schwarzenegger, that huge bodybuilder guy. I figured, if it worked for him, why not give it a shot? This is not for everyone since it’s quite intense. I just want to record how I did it, and it’s quite an experience.

First off, I had to figure out what this Arnold Split actually was.

Turns out, it’s a six-day workout plan. You heard that right – six days a week! I thought to myself, “This is going to be tough,” but I was determined. I learned that the whole point is to work different muscle groups on different days to let them rest and grow.

I started by breaking down the plan.

  • Day one was chest and back. I did bench presses, which I’m kind of okay at, and then these things called “bent-over rows.” Man, those rows were killer! I used some really heavy weights, felt like I was lifting 315 pounds. I was sweating buckets, but it felt good in a weird, painful way.
  • Day two was shoulders and arms. Lots of lifting weights over my head, and curls until my arms felt like they were going to fall off.
  • Day three was legs and abs. Squats are the worst, but I powered through. I wanted to quit during the exercise, but I must finish it!

Then, I’d repeat the whole thing for the next three days. It was brutal, I won’t lie. I also found some info about what Arnold ate and the supplements he took, but I didn’t get too deep into that. Maybe later.

Here’s how a typical day went down:

  • Wake up early, eat a big breakfast. Usually eggs and some carbs to fuel up.
  • Head to the gym, crank up some music to get pumped.
  • Follow the plan for the day. Push myself as hard as I could, but also listen to my body. If something hurt too much, I’d take a break or lower the weight.
  • Finish the workout, feeling exhausted but accomplished.
  • Go home, eat a bunch of protein to help my muscles recover.

After a few weeks, I started to see some changes.

My muscles were definitely getting bigger, and I felt stronger overall. It was hard work, but it was paying off. Some days, I really didn’t feel like going to the gym, but I pushed myself to stick to the plan.

Now, I’m not saying everyone should do the Arnold Split.

It’s a lot of work, and it’s not for beginners.

But for me, it was a fun challenge. I learned a lot about my body and what I’m capable of. Plus, it’s kind of cool to say you’re doing a workout that Arnold Schwarzenegger used to do.

So, that’s my experience with the Arnold Split. It’s tough, but if you’re looking to really push yourself and build some serious muscle, it might be worth a try. Just be prepared to work your butt off! And remember, I’m just sharing my experience – what works for me might not work for everyone. Be smart, listen to your body, and maybe you’ll see some gains too! You can do it!
