So, I saw this “deplorable and proud” thing trending, and I was like, “What the heck is this all about?” I’m always up for trying weird stuff, so I decided to dive in and see if I could make something out of it. Honestly, I had zero clue where to start.

First, I googled it. Like, a lot. I scrolled through a bunch of articles, forum posts, and even some, uh, interesting websites. Let’s just say it’s a pretty loaded phrase, with a lot of different meanings depending on who you ask. It’s kind of a political hot potato, but I wasn’t really interested in all that drama.
I wanted to do something creative with it. Something unexpected. Initially I thought of making a funny T-shirt about it, but that felt too basic.
The Brainstorming Mess
- T-shirt idea: Scrapped. Too obvious.
- Short story: Maybe? But I’m not exactly a writer.
- A song: I can barely carry a tune, so that’s a no-go.
- A meme?: Getting warmer.
After getting these four options, I chose to do a meme. First of all, I opened Photoshop.
I grabbed some random images, threw some text on them, and played around with fonts and colors. Honestly, most of it was just trial and error. I made a few different versions, trying to be ironic, or maybe just plain *’s quite like doing art experiments.

The first few were… rough. Really rough. Like, “delete immediately” rough. But I kept at it, tweaking things here and there, moving stuff around, trying different combinations.
Then finally, I created something that at least made me chuckle. It was a picture of a ridiculously smug-looking cat with the words “Deplorable and Proud” plastered across it. The cat was wearing a tiny crown, because why not? I had fun with the text too, mixing up fonts and cases to make it look as chaotic as possible.
I posted it to a couple of meme groups online, just to see what would happen. And, well, some people got it, some people didn’t, and some people were probably just confused. But hey, I made something, and I put it out there. That’s all that really matters, right?
So, my “deplorable and proud” experiment was… interesting. Not sure I’d do it again, but it was definitely a unique way to spend an afternoon. It gave me something really unexpected.
