Okay, let’s talk about diving into the Week 15 waiver wire. It felt like a big one, you know, with playoffs kicking off or folks fighting for that last spot.

My Waiver Wire Routine – Week 15
So, first thing Tuesday morning, usually after grabbing some coffee, I popped open my fantasy league apps. Had to see where the damage was from Week 14. You always have some guys banged up, or maybe someone just completely disappeared from the game plan. For me, I had a running back go down, not great timing obviously. That immediately set my priority.
Next up, I actually went straight to the waiver wire list for each league. I just started scrolling, looking at who got dropped and who was available. You look at the points from last week, sure, but I try to look a bit deeper. Who got the touches? Who was on the field a lot? Sometimes a guy has a quiet week but his usage tells a different story.
Sorting Through the Options
This week, there were a few names popping up consistently across my leagues. Guys who maybe had a surprise good game or stepped into a bigger role because of injuries.
- I definitely looked hard at the running backs available. With my own injury issue, this was key. Saw some backups who might get starting reps. Considered guys like maybe Jerome Ford if he was somehow still out there in shallower leagues, or even some deeper dart throws depending on the league size.
- Checked out the receivers too. You always look for targets. Saw some young guys, maybe like a Jalen McMillan, who might see more looks down the stretch, especially if their team is out of it and wants to see what the rookies got.
- Didn’t ignore QBs or TEs either. Streaming is huge this time of year. If your starter has a rough matchup, grabbing a guy off the wire with a juicy one can be the difference-maker.
Making the Claims and Waiting
Okay, so after identifying who I wanted, I had to figure out my bids. I play mostly in FAAB leagues (Free Agent Acquisition Budget), so it wasn’t just about priority, it was about cash. How much was I willing to spend? For that starting running back need, I knew I had to be aggressive. Put down a pretty hefty chunk of my remaining budget. Didn’t want to lose out.

For other guys, maybe a receiver I liked but didn’t desperately need, I put in smaller, more hopeful bids. You set your claims, order them how you want them, and then… you just wait. That part kinda sucks, waiting for the waivers to process overnight.
The Results
Woke up Wednesday, checked the apps again. Good news on the running back front! My big bid paid off, got the guy I targeted most. That was a relief. Felt like I plugged the biggest hole.
Missed out on one of the receivers I put a smaller bid on – someone else clearly wanted him more. That’s how it goes. Got a backup tight end in another league for basically nothing, which was fine, just adds some depth.
So overall, pretty successful waiver run this week. Filled my main need, which was the goal. Now comes the fun part: figuring out if they actually make it into the starting lineup for this crucial playoff week. Gotta check those matchups again! Wish me luck.
