Okay, so today I wanted to mess around with getting a Ghana squad list together. Not for anything official, just for fun, you know? I figured it would be a good way to learn more about the players and see who’s hot right now.

Starting From Scratch
First thing I did was just hit up the internet. I wasn’t looking for anything specific, just a general “Ghana national football team” type search. I wanted to get a feel for the landscape, see who the usual suspects were. You know, the big names everyone always talks about.
I opened a bunch of browser tabs – news articles, some fan forums, even the official Ghana Football Association page(but didn’t copy anything just learn and write). It was kind of overwhelming at first, tons of information, lots of different opinions.
Making a List
- I grabbed a piece of paper and a pen.
- Old school, I know, but it helps me think.
- I started jotting down names as I came across them.
- Just the players, no positions or anything yet.
My initial list was HUGE. Way too many players. So I had to start trimming it down. I focused on players who were mentioned in multiple sources, especially recent articles. That helped me narrow it down to the guys who are actually playing regularly and doing well.
Figuring Out Positions
Next, I started assigning positions. This was a little trickier. Some players are versatile, they can play multiple positions. I tried to put them where they seemed to play most often, based on what I was reading.
I use the simple way to sort them by Goalkeepers, Defenders, Midfielders, and Forwards. make them easy to read.

Building the Squad
This is where it got really interesting. I started thinking about formations, you know, 4-4-2, 4-3-3, that kind of thing. I tried to pick a balanced squad, with enough players for each position, but also keeping in mind those versatile guys who could fill in if needed.
The Final Result(Almost)
I ended up with a list that I felt pretty good about. It’s definitely not perfect, and I’m sure there are players I missed. But it was a fun exercise, and I learned a lot about the Ghana team in the process.
It’s a solid mix of experienced veterans and exciting up-and-comers.
This whole thing was just for fun, a little experiment. I might do it again with other teams, it’s a cool way to keep up with football around the world.
