In Stars and Time King: Ultimate Guide and Gameplay Tips!

Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this game, “In Stars and Time,” and let me tell you, the “King” fight is something else. I’ve wanted to document my whole frustrating, yet fun process. Here’s how I finally tackled it.

In Stars and Time King: Ultimate Guide and Gameplay Tips!

Getting Started

First, I made sure to grind a bit. My party was all around level 20, but don’t make them too high of a level. You know, so it wouldn’t be a complete cakewalk. It’s good to start with some warm-up fights before the grand finale.

Understanding the Loop

The whole game is about time loops, right? So, the King fight is no different. I figured I’d have to die a few times to learn his patterns. That was my original approach, don’t be me, because it’s not very effective.

Trial and Error (Lots of Error)

Man, the first few attempts were rough. I tried different party setups, focusing on healing, then on all-out attack. Nothing seemed to work and I failed so many times, it’s not even funny.

The “Aha!” Moment

Then it hit me. I needed to pay super close attention to the King’s dialogue and actions before each big attack. Each line he says corresponds to a specific move. Like, really, really specific.

The Strategy

  • Siffrin: I mainly used him for support. His “Cheer” ability became my best friend, boosting the party’s attack.
  • Isabeau: He was my heavy hitter. Once Siffrin boosted his attack, Isabeau’s strongest physical attacks did the most damage.
  • Odile: Pure healer. I had her constantly casting group heals to keep everyone alive, pretty standard.
  • Mirabelle: She was kind of my wild card. I used her for occasional attacks, but mostly for item usage if Odile was busy or knocked out.
  • Bonnie:Used her to defend almost every turn to protect her friends, and other times used her to heal.

The Actual Fight (Finally!)

Here’s how a typical loop went down (after I figured out the pattern):

  1. King says his line. I immediately think, “Okay, he’s about to do that move.”
  2. Siffrin uses “Cheer” on Isabeau.
  3. Isabeau unleashes his biggest attack.
  4. Odile heals everyone.
  5. Mirabelle either attacks or uses an item.
  6. Bonnie either defends or heals.
  7. Repeat, adapting to each of the King’s phases.

Victory! (It Took a While)

It still took several tries even after I had the strategy down. It’s a tough fight, requiring precise timing and a bit of luck. But when I finally beat him, man, it felt good.

So yeah, that’s my story of beating the King in “In Stars and Time.” It’s all about observation, a good party setup, and a whole lot of patience. I was so proud of myself when I finished, even though it took a little while.
