Okay, so I’ve been digging into this whole “Tampa mascot” thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a wild ride. I wanted to make something, you know? Not just read about it, but do something with it.
First, I spent, like, two hours just scrolling through images. I started with a basic search, then narrowed it down to the specific teams and characters. It felt like there were a million options!
Picking a Mascot
I decided to focus on just one to keep things simple. That narrowed it down considerably. I needed to find a mascot that was kinda cool, but also something I could actually work with.
Gathering My Materials
- I grabbed some cardboard from the recycling bin.
- I found some old paint in the garage.
- I borrowed some markers from my kid’s art supplies. (Don’t tell them!)
The Messy Part
I started by sketching out a rough shape on the cardboard. Let’s just say my art skills are… not professional. It looked kinda wonky, but hey, that’s part of the charm, right?
Then came the paint. I slapped it on, trying to match the colors I’d seen online. It definitely wasn’t perfect, and I may have gotten more paint on myself than on the cardboard.
After the paint dried (mostly), I used the markers to add some details. Eyes, mouth, that kind of stuff. Again, very amateur, but it was starting to look like something!
The Final Result
It’s… well, it’s something. It’s not going to win any awards, that’s for sure. But I made it! I took an idea, did some research, and created a physical thing. And honestly, that’s pretty satisfying, even if it looks a little goofy.
It was a fun afternoon project, a little messy, a little silly, but totally worth it. Next time, I might try something a bit more… ambitious. Or maybe not. We’ll see!
