Okay, so the other day, I was watching some UFC stuff, and you know Conor McGregor? That guy’s got some serious swagger. I got this crazy idea in my head: “I wanna try that walk.” You know the one, where he swings his arms like he owns the entire building.

So, I started by just trying to copy what I saw on videos. I pushed out my chest, tried to keep my head up, and started swinging my arms. Man, I felt ridiculous! I kept bumping into things, and my arms got tired really fast. I practiced in my living room, nearly knocked over a lamp a few times. My dog was looking at me like I’d lost my mind. Also, I tried to do this in front of my cat, he will just stare at me as if I am an idiot.

Then, I did a little digging around. Turns out, it’s not just about flailing your arms around. It’s like, a whole power stance thing. You gotta stand tall, really puff out that chest, and walk with purpose. Like you’re marching into battle or something. It’s all about confidence. This guy’s normal weight is around 170, I guess this is also a reason why he looks so confident.

  • First, I started really focusing on my posture. Standing up straighter, pulling my shoulders back.
  • Then, I worked on the arm swing. It’s not just a wild swing, it’s more controlled. Like a pendulum, but with more force.
  • Finally, I tried to put it all together. The walk, the stance, the arm swing.

The Actual Practice

I started practicing every day. Just a few minutes here and there. In the kitchen, in the hallway, even in the grocery store (yeah, I got some weird looks). And you know what? I started to feel a little different.

It’s weird, but when you walk like that, you start to feel a little more… confident. Like you can take on anything. It’s not about being cocky, but more like, self-assured. I still don’t think I quite have it down like McGregor, but hey, it’s a work in progress, and the feeling is so great.

Honestly, it was a fun little experiment. And it taught me that sometimes, just changing how you carry yourself can actually change how you feel. So, next time you’re feeling a little down, maybe give it a try. Just don’t punch anyone, okay?
