Born in 1948 in Dayton, Ohio, this guy had a long career, playing from 1971 to 1988. He was with some major teams, too – the Cleveland Indians, New York Yankees, and Atlanta Braves. I thought, “Wow, that’s a lot of baseball.”
But it wasn’t just about playing. After he hung up his cleats, Chambliss went into coaching. He worked with the Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals, and a few others. It’s like he couldn’t get enough of the game, you know? Always around baseball, in some way or another.
