So, I was in the kitchen, trying out this new recipe, right? And it kept calling for “1/3 cup” of this and “1/3 cup” of that. Now, I don’t know about you, but fractions make my head spin a little, especially when I’m trying to get things done quickly.

I thought, “There’s gotta be a better way!” I mean, we live in the age of digital scales and precise measurements. Surely, there’s a decimal equivalent for 1/3 cup that I can just punch in.
The Quest Begins
First, I grabbed my phone. You know, the usual – open up the calculator app. I typed in 1 divided by 3. Boom! 0.33333… It just kept going and going. Okay, so it’s a repeating decimal. That’s… not super helpful when I’m trying to measure flour.
I remembered some basic conversions. Like, I know that 1 cup is about 240 * you know,I take my phone calculator, then I typed 240 ml 0.3333。The result is 79.92.
Then it hit me! My measuring cups actually have those little lines on the side with milliliter markings.I grab the cup for a qucik check!
Eureka! (Almost)
- I found the 80ml line .Close Enough!I mean my result of calculation is 79.92.
- I do not have a very precise scale,it is just for daily * a little deviation does not matter I think.
From now on, when a recipe calls for 1/3 cup,I just use the 80ml line to measure it!Problem Solved!

Hope you find it helpful,guys!
