I was thinking about Zion Williamson the other day. That guy’s been through a lot, you know? I saw on the internet he hasn’t played for the New Orleans Pelicans for two whole months! Can you believe it?
So, I started to read up on what’s going on with him. Turns out, he’s been dealing with a left hamstring strain. I mean, that sounds painful. They said he’s close to coming back and even practiced last week, but who knows when he’ll actually be back on the court.
- I even read a funny story that he missed a game against the Chicago Bulls because he was sick. I guess even pro athletes get sick sometimes, right?
- Then I dug a little deeper and found out that his dad’s name is Lateef Williamson. Apparently, he used to play football, too. Not sure how true that is, but it’s kind of cool to think about.
I remember watching Zion play in college at Duke. Man, that guy was a beast! He was only 6’6″, but he played like he was a giant. Every game, he was the best player on the court, and the most fun to watch, too. No wonder he was the number one pick in the draft.
I’m hoping he comes back strong, but it’s tough. Two months is a long time to be out, and it’s not just about being healthy anymore. Now it’s about, can he still be the player we all thought he could be? Only time will tell. I really want to see this guy back in the game soon. I even saw some highlights of him tying the score against the Lakers with a crazy shot over Anthony Davis. This guy is the real deal.
I’m keeping my fingers crossed for Zion. It’s never easy dealing with injuries, especially when you’re as talented as he is. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
I’ll keep following his story, though. It’s definitely one of the more interesting ones in the NBA right now. It got me thinking, maybe I should start following basketball more closely. Or maybe I’ll just stick to reading about it online. We’ll see.
