Okay, here is my sharing about the maintenance of my Yamaha motorcycle:

I rode my Yamaha motorcycle to the JM Motor Sector 63 shop today. I usually do some maintenance myself, but sometimes I still need help from others, so I go there to ask them for help. I just want to share with you what I did.
First, I checked my owner’s manual. You know, the manual has a maintenance schedule recommended by Yamaha. Following that schedule helps to keep my lovely motorcycle running great. So, I tried to follow the recommendations.
Before I start, I always make sure that I have the correct tools and stuff. I use a wrench to loosen some bolts, and then I can take off the fairings to get to the engine.
- Oil Change: This is a basic task. I warmed up the engine for a few minutes first, and then I turned it off. I put an oil pan under the drain plug, unscrewed the plug, and let the old oil flow out. After that, I changed the oil filter and put the new one in. I screwed the drain plug back on and filled the engine with the correct amount of fresh oil.
- Chain Cleaning and Lubrication: It is important to clean and lubricate the chain. I used a brush and chain cleaner to scrub off the dirt and grime. Then, I wiped it down and applied chain lubricant evenly along the chain.
- Tire Pressure Check: I used a tire pressure gauge to check the pressure in both tires. I always make sure they were inflated to the pressure levels recommended in the owner’s manual.
- Brake Check: I checked the brake fluid level and made sure it is within the recommended range. Also, I inspected the brake pads and discs for wear. They looked good this time, but if they were worn, I would have them replaced.
After all those maintenance, I tested everything out. I started the engine and let it run for a while. I checked for any leaks and made sure everything was working correctly. I took it for a short ride to make sure the brakes and everything else were working fine.
That’s pretty much it! By doing these simple tasks, I can keep my Yamaha motorcycle running smoothly, and I don’t always have to go to the mechanic. Plus, I can save some money. Hope my sharing helps someone who needs it!
