Alright, so I needed a place to crash near Philadelphia, Mississippi for a bit, and folks mentioned the Dancing Rabbit Hotel. Figured I’d give it a shot, see what it was all about. Wasn’t really planning a big casino trip or anything, just needed a room.

So, I packed a small bag and drove over there. The drive itself wasn’t bad, pretty straightforward roads once you get close. Finding the actual hotel part of the whole Pearl River Resort complex was easy enough, signs pointed the way.
Pulled into the parking lot, found a spot without too much trouble. Grabbed my bag and walked into the main entrance. The lobby area looked pretty standard for a hotel connected to a casino – kinda spacious, trying to look a bit fancy, you know the type. Went up to the front desk to get checked in.
Checking In and Finding the Room
The check-in process was pretty smooth. Gave them my name, they found the reservation, swiped the card, handed me the key card. The staff seemed alright, polite enough. Didn’t take long at all. Then it was off to find the room.
Hopped in the elevator, went up to my floor. The hallways were quiet, which was nice. Found my room number, swiped the card, and headed inside. First impression? It was a hotel room. Looked clean, which is always my main concern. Had the usual stuff:
- A bed (looked okay)
- A TV
- A little desk thing
- The bathroom
Put my bag down. Took a quick look around the bathroom – seemed clean too, towels were there, little soaps and things. Everything looked functional. Can’t ask for much more than that, really.

Wandering Around and Settling In
I didn’t just stay cooped up, though. Went for a little walk around the place. It’s definitely connected to the bigger resort, you can easily walk over to the casino areas if that’s your thing. I poked my head in, saw the lights and machines, but didn’t really hang around long.
Needed to grab something to eat later. Found one of the casual spots nearby within the resort area. Food was okay, nothing spectacular, but it did the job. Filled me up.
Went back to the room after that. Flipped through the channels on the TV for a bit. The bed turned out to be comfortable enough. I slept pretty well, actually. Didn’t hear a lot of noise from the hallway or other rooms, so that was a definite plus.
Checking Out
Next morning, woke up, did the usual routine. Showered, got dressed, packed my bag back up. Didn’t really linger. Headed back down to the lobby. Check-out was super simple, basically just dropped off the key card at the desk and told them I was leaving. Took like two minutes.
Walked back out to the car, tossed my bag in, and headed off. So, yeah, that was my stay at the Dancing Rabbit. It was fine. A totally okay place to spend the night. Clean room, decent bed, easy check-in/out. It served its purpose perfectly well if you need a convenient spot right there at the resort or in the Philadelphia area. Nothing blew me away, but no major complaints either. Just a straightforward hotel experience.
