Alright so yesterday I was scrolling through some NFL highlights, you know how it is, wasting time between work stuff. DK Metcalf makes this insane catch, and the announcer shouts “That’s Metcalf!” but then the comments below were full of people using these weird nicknames. DK Lockett? Hawk? Seriously? I had no clue what half of them meant.

I figured I better just start simple. Opened a fresh browser tab – gotta have a clean slate, right? Typed “DK Metcalf nicknames” straight into the search bar. Hit enter, crossed my fingers.

Learned that one on * actually. Weird, but okay. Another forum post talked about “Baby Megatron”. Took me a second. Right, Calvin Johnson! Because DK’s that big, explosive receiver type. Younger generation version maybe?
Hitting the Social Media Goldmine
Forgot about Twitter and Reddit! Searched his name again, but this time on Reddit r/NFL and r/Seahawks. So much chatter. That’s where “DK Lockett” really seemed popular. Also saw “Just DK” mentioned a bunch – guess when you’re that good, first name basis is enough. Scrolled through his own Instagram too.
