Alright, folks, let’s dive into something that’s been bugging me and probably a bunch of you too – those legacy competitive points in Overwatch. What the heck can we actually use them for? I’ve been hoarding these things like a dragon with its gold, and I finally decided to get to the bottom of it.

First, I logged into the game. You know, the usual routine – fired up the PC, waited for all the updates (seriously, there’s always an update), and then finally got to the main menu.
Then I navigated to the “Heroes” section. I mean, it makes sense, right? Competitive points, heroes, gotta be something there. I clicked around, checked out each hero, and then I spotted it – the “Weapons” tab.
Golden Guns!
Yep, golden guns! That’s where those legacy points are hiding their value. Basically, you can use those old-school points to buy golden weapon variants for any hero you want. It’s purely cosmetic, doesn’t make your shots any stronger, but hey, who doesn’t love a bit of bling?
I spent a good amount of time browsing through my choices.

- Do I go full golden with my main, Cassidy?
- Show off my support skills by making Mercy’s staff shiny?
- give the tank some love, with the rein golden hammer?
After a lot of back-and-forth (seriously, it was a tough decision), I decided to give my legacy Competitive Points to my beloved hero. I have a fancy golden weapon.
So, there you have it. Legacy competitive points aren’t useless after all! They’re your ticket to some sweet golden gun goodness. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to show off my new bling in a few matches.
