Alright, let’s talk about getting those pictures of Chong sorted out. It started pretty simply, I just needed to find them, you know? For a little project I was thinking about.
Digging Through the Archives
First off, I cracked open my old external hard drive. The one that makes that funny clicking noise? Yeah, that one. Spent maybe an hour just letting it spin up and navigating the mess of folders I made years ago. Honestly, my past self wasn’t great at organizing. Found folders named things like ‘Misc Photos’ or ‘Stuff 2019’. Super helpful.
Found a few decent shots in there, mostly from that gathering we had. Remember that? The lighting was terrible in most of them, but captured the moment, I guess. A lot were blurry, kids running around, that sort of thing.
Checking the Cloud and Phone
Then I remembered I might have uploaded some stuff to that cloud service I barely use. Logged in, reset the password probably, and started scrolling. Found a few more, mostly selfies Chong took with my phone back then. Kids, eh?
My current phone was the next target. Scrolled way, way back. It’s crazy how many photos we take without thinking. Thousands. Found some recent ones, much better quality obviously, but maybe not the same vibe as the older ones.

Sorting and Picking
Okay, so now I had a pile of digital pictures scattered across different places. Dumped them all into one new folder on my main computer. The real ‘fun’ part. Going through them one by one. Some were duplicates, slightly different angles maybe. Had to pick the best ones.
Didn’t do much editing. Maybe cropped a few, adjusted the brightness on a couple that were really dark. Didn’t want to make them look fake, just usable. It’s more about the memory than making them perfect, right?
Took longer than I expected, this whole process. You think it’ll be quick, just grab some photos, but then you get lost looking at old stuff, remembering things. It’s a bit of a rabbit hole. Anyway, got a decent selection now. Ready for the next step, whatever that might be.
