Okay, so I’ve been hearing about this place called Shaboom in San Ramon for a while now. Everyone’s talking about it, saying it’s the place to be if you want to dance to some old-school tunes. I finally decided to check it out last weekend, and let me tell you, it was an experience.

First off, San Ramon is a pretty chill place. You know, it’s got some big-name companies there like Chevron and GE Digital, but it still feels like a small town. So, I was curious to see how a nightclub would fit into that vibe. I heard this place plays music from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. I was pretty stoked since that’s my jam.
I got there a bit early, around 9 PM. I heard that you gotta get there early if you want to avoid the crazy lines. I guess I hit the time right cause it was not too busy. I walked in, and the first thing I noticed was the music. It was some classic 80s hits. I was already tapping my foot, ready to go. The place was not packed, so I went to check out the bar. It’s a full bar, so they’ve got pretty much everything you could want. I grabbed a beer and looked around.
The Music and the Crowd
- Music: Just as advertised, they were spinning tunes from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. I heard some disco, some rock, and even a little bit of that early hip-hop. It was a good mix.
- Crowd: It was a mix of people. I saw some folks who were clearly there to dance, and some who were just hanging out with friends. Everyone seemed to be having a good time, though.
I spent a couple of hours there, just soaking up the atmosphere and dancing. I even saw some people mention it online as a good place for groups, and I gotta agree. It’s definitely a spot where you can go with your friends and have a blast. I saw a few reviews online, and most people seemed to dig it. There were mentions of other places nearby, like Gaucho Brazilian Steakhouse and Number 1 Broadway, but Shaboom seemed to hold its own.
I also saw something about a Bollywood night, which sounds pretty cool. I might have to check that out sometime. I also read somewhere that San Ramon has a lot of open spaces and views of Mount Diablo. I didn’t get to see much of that at night, but it sounds like a good reason to come back during the day.
All in all, it was a fun night. I left with a smile on my face, a little tired from all the dancing, but definitely happy I went. If you’re in San Ramon and you’re looking for a place to let loose and dance to some classic hits, Shaboom is worth checking out. It’s not a fancy club, but it’s got a good vibe, and that’s what counts, right?
