Today, I gotta talk about this “Venezuelans play off” thing, I was so excited and I did a bunch of stuff, and it was kind of a mess, but I figured it out in the end.
It all started when I saw something about Venezuelans online. I didn’t know much about it, so I did some digging. Found out Venezuela is this place with a ton of oil, used to be big on coffee and cocoa. And man, they got this crazy tall waterfall, Angel Falls, it’s wild! Also, I read about how the Spanish showed up there back in the 1500s and set up shop in this city called Cumaná.
Then things got real. I read about how a lot of folks are leaving Venezuela because things are tough over there, like, over 5.4 million people since 2014! They’re heading out to places like Mexico, trying to get across the border. There’s this one story about a kid, Wistong, who walked all the way from Venezuela with his parents.
My to-do list:
- Get the background: First, I read up on Venezuela’s history, like the whole colonization thing.
- Figure out the current situation: I found out about the economic problems and why people are leaving.
- Look into the migration stuff: This was the biggest part. I read about people trying to get to the U.S. through Mexico and all the crazy stuff they go through.
- Find personal stories: I wanted to see what it was like for the people actually going through this, so I looked for stories like Wistong’s.
I spent hours reading articles, watching videos, you name it. It was a lot to take in, to be honest. A lot of these people are going through some seriously tough times, crossing borders illegally, trying to find a better life.
At the end of the day, I learned a ton about Venezuela and the whole migration situation. It’s way more complicated than I thought. It’s not just about people wanting to leave; it’s about what’s happening in Venezuela that’s making them leave. And the journey they take is no joke.
