Alright, so I’ve been digging into this whole Utah hockey trademarks thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a rabbit hole. I wanted to see what names they were trying to lock down, you know, for the new NHL team.
First, I started poking around the USPTO website. That’s the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, for those not in the know. It’s where you go to see all the trademark filings.
It was easy, I just typed in “Utah” and then added that i wanted sports terms, and the website gave me a bunch stuff.
Diving Deep into Trademark Filings
Next I spent time looking through the filling list, I found a few interesting ones. They’ve got a bunch of names trademarked, and it gave me a good idea of what the team might be called.

It’s pretty, it gave me an idea that what names were chose by them.
