Okay so this afternoon I was trying to play Cult of the Lamb, right? But my dang crown just wouldn’t show up after dying. Pissed me off big time – couldn’t do anything at camp. Here’s exactly what I did to fix it.

First Try: Reloaded Everything
My gut said just restart the stupid game. So I quit properly through menu, killed it on Steam, rebooted my whole computer even. Fired it back up… still no crown. Total waste of time.
Checked Common Fixes
Got real frustrated now. Searched forums on my phone while game was running. Saw people saying:
- Maybe followers are standing on it
- Could be glitched in building collision
- Save file might be screwed
So I ran around spamming the pickup button everywhere. Had my followers follow me to clear space. Nothing worked.
The Save File Hail Mary
Got desperate now. Did this:
- Exited game completely
- Went to Steam Library → Right click Cult of Lamb → Properties → Local Files → Verify Integrity
- Let it do its scan thing – took like 3 minutes
Still broken when relaunched! Was ready to throw my keyboard.

What Finally Worked
Randomly remembered an old post about crown mechanics. Tried this stupid simple fix:
Started new crusade → died immediately to first enemy → respawned at camp → BOOM crown spawned on the altar! So freaking simple after all that. Apparently the game sometimes needs to reset crown state through new crusade. Dumb but it worked.
Quick Preventative Tips
Now when I play:
- Always quit to main menu before closing game
- Keep altar area clear of decorations/followers
- Do quick suicide run if crown vanishes again
Seriously – just die on purpose next time your crown ghosts you. Fixed it in like 20 seconds after I stopped overcomplicating it. Game’s janky sometimes but this usually works.
