Time and Channel Daytona 500 Info – Your Easy Guide to Start Time Broadcast

Got a bunch of messages asking where to watch the Daytona 500 this year. Figured I’d save everyone the headache and whip up a quick guide. Started simple: grabbed my phone and just typed “Daytona 500 time” into Google. Boom – top result said February 19th. Easy peasy.

Then hit the annoying part. Fox’s website had this giant banner screaming “SUNDAY SUNDAY SUNDAY!” but zero clear time details. Scrolled forever past driver interviews and merch ads. Finally spotted tiny gray text buried near the footer: 2:30 PM Eastern. Classic.

  • Tried NASCAR’s app: Crashed twice when I tapped “event schedule.” Third time lucky – found it under “race center.” Same start time listed, so guess Fox got that right.
  • Checked my cable guide: Fox channel 506. Searched “Daytona 500” in the guide… showed three replays but no live listing. Why’s it always this messy?
  • Radio option? Remembered MRN covers races. Their site took forever to load. Found a teeny “listen live” link behind three pop-up ads.

Threw all this junk into my notes app. My guide structure was:

  • Blink-and-you’ll-miss-it start time
  • Fox channel numbers for main providers (Comcast, Dish, etc.)
  • MRN frequency list by state
  • Timezone conversion table because Arizona’s weird

Posted it. Got comments like “Bro you saved my Super Bowl party plan” and “Wait it’s NOT on NBC this year??” Proof that racing fans shouldn’t need Indiana Jones skills just to watch a dang race. Next year I’m writing this guide December. Done.
