Man, I’ve been stuck on that dumb “Out of Luck” quest in Destiny 2 for ages. Just couldn’t crack it, y’know? Kept getting wrecked, felt like bashing my head against a wall. Anyway, finally figured out a decent way through yesterday.
Getting Started (And Getting Smashed)
Jumped into the quest like always – all confident and stuff. Picked my usual loadout, some auto rifle, a shotgun, tried to blitz through. Didn’t even make it to the first room proper. Those stupid Scorn with their shields and flame turrets? Wiped me quick. Tried again. And again. Seriously, felt like running straight into a brick wall.
Got mad frustrated. Took a break, ate a snack. Came back thinking, “Okay, gotta change this up.”
Switching Gears Like An Idiot
Dug around my vault. Pulled out every exotic, every legendary I had stashed.
- Tried Scout Rifles? Too slow, got swarmed.
- Snipers? Pointless in close quarters.
- Different subclasses? Nova Bomb? Golden Gun? Couldn’t clear adds fast enough to focus the champions. Kept dying.
Realized I was being dumb – charging in like a maniac every time. Needed to play smarter. Needed distance and power.
Finding That Sweet Spot (Almost)
Stumbled on a semi-decent spot near the entrance hallway. Could peek out, plink away with a Pulse Rifle. Felt better! Took down some adds carefully. Problem? The big chunky champions still wrecked me when they pushed up. Ran out of heavy ammo. Every. Single. Time.
Threw my hands up. “This is impossible!” Almost quit for the day.
The “Duh” Moment With Heavy Ammo
Then it hit me. Was I even using my Heavy ammo effectively? Nah. Saving it like a scaredy-cat for “the right moment” – which never came.
Decided: Screw it. Next run, as soon as I saw an orange-bar enemy or a champion? Boom. Rocket Launcher straight to their face. Machine Gun? Hold the trigger down on ’em.
Suddenly… stuff was dying! Champions weren’t so scary when they ate half a rocket mag. Kept this up, using Heavy freely whenever something looked tough.
The Final Haul (And Relief)
Cleared the adds methodically from my little corner, using Primary ammo mostly. Then, when champions showed their ugly heads? Unloaded the Heavy without hesitation. It wasn’t graceful – burned through all my ammo bricks – but it kinda worked! Finally saw the objective update. That sweet “Quest Complete” popped up.
Huge sigh of relief. Felt like a weight lifted off my shoulders. Took way longer than it should’ve, all because I was being stingy with the big guns. Lesson learned: When Destiny says “use Heavy,” just freaking use it.
