Alright so here’s how I chased down the Sheridan IGA flyer deals this week. Woke up Tuesday morning thinking ’bout groceries, specifically hoping for ground beef on sale. Grabbed my ancient laptop, finger hovering over the trackpad. First stop: opened up my usual browser, that sluggish thing.

The Initial Hunt

Typed in “Sheridan IGA flyer” real quick. Hit enter expecting that colorful flyer page. Nada. Got served some weird third-party site instead, flashing ads like crazy. Clicked back faster than you can say “spam”. Tried again, slower this time. Punched in “Sheridan IGA weekly specials” properly. Still nothing useful. Just store hours, address… useless for deals.

Remembered last month’s hassle. Their own main store page? Never shows the flyer right away. Gotta dig. Scrolled down, squinting at tiny links. Found a section called “Specials” or something like that. Bingo. But… it was last week’s flyer! Stale news. Felt like kicking the table leg. Refreshed the page hard. Same old stuff. Tech gremlins at work?

Switching Tactics

Pulled out my phone. Figured maybe their mobile site works better. Opened the browser, did the same search dance. Got the same crummy third-party site again. Swore under my breath. This time, bookmarked the main Sheridan IGA page months back, right? Dug through my messy bookmarks folder. Found it! Tapped it open.

  • Searched for a “Weekly Flyer” tab or button. Not there.
  • Scanned top and bottom menus. Nothing saying “specials”.
  • Finally spotted “Promotions” in faded text. Tapped it.

It loaded slower than traffic jam. Just spinning, spinning. Almost gave up. Then… pop! The current flyer magically appeared. About time!

The (Finally) Useful Bits

Started scanning images fast. Produce first. Oh! Avocados – 88 cents each? Score. Scroll scroll. Meat section… chicken thighs $1.99/lb? Good, but not the beef. Kept going. Almost missed it! Ground beef packs hidden near the bottom – $3.49/lb. Not amazing, but decent. Marked it mentally. Cheese block deals looked solid too. Forgot bread though, scrolled back up. Found it – buy one, get one 50% off. Okay fine. Took maybe ten minutes just to get this far.

Wrote my list based on what I actually saw this time. No more guessing games. Beef, avocados, cheese, bread. Done. Closed everything feeling kinda triumphant, like I hacked their system. Silly, I know. Still, saved maybe twenty bucks spotting those deals firsthand. Won’t rely on random searches next week. Straight to their “Promotions” pit, ready for battle.

Well, maybe next time they’ll actually put the flyer where normal humans look. Probably not though.
