Getting Started
Okay, needed to find tennis times in Riyadh this week. Realized I forgot the exact schedule for a game I wanted to catch. Grabbed my phone thinking it’d be quick. Wrong.
The Initial Mess
Clicks the usual sports app first. Types in “Riyadh tennis.” Gets shown basketball scores from Saudi last season. Zero tennis. Swipes away, kinda annoyed.
Opens the big search engine next. Types “riyadh tennis schedule this week”. Tons of results pop up. But half are news articles about players, another bunch are sites selling equipment. Scrolled forever, feeling lost.
Finally sees something promising – a sports club site. Gets hopeful. Page looks decent, mentions tennis events… but then? No dates, no times. Just a fancy description about world-class courts. Useless. Closed it real fast.
Zeroing In (Finally)
Gets to thinking maybe it’s some fancy tournament name I’m forgetting. Tries “Riyadh Rolex Series this week” and BOOM! First result actually had the word “schedule” right in the title. Victory dance in my head.
Clicks that link. Okay, this looks legit. Finally sees real days listed: Monday, Tuesday, all the way to Sunday. Needs the specific times though, gets ready to scroll.
Here’s what finally worked:
- Monday / Tuesday: Practice sessions listed. Starts early afternoon (like 1 PM) goes until night.
- Wednesday: Real games kick off! Singles matches from about 3 PM.
- Thursday / Friday / Saturday: Gets busy. Lots of singles and doubles, morning starts around 11 AM? Evening sessions around 6 PM seemed packed.
- Sunday: Big Finals! Starts later, says gates open mid-afternoon, play around 4 PM or 5 PM? Need to double-check the finals timing.
Annoyances & Relief
Still had a problem. Wanted the schedule saved somewhere handy. Site had a “download schedule” button. Nice! Hit the button… asked for a login first. Nope. Just wanted the PDF, man. Sighs. Ended up taking screenshots like some digital caveman.
Also spotted links to buy tickets during the whole search mess. Prices? Ouch. Some sessions were hefty, finals especially. Almost spilled my coffee seeing those numbers.
Mission Mostly Accomplished?
Got the main days and sessions figured out. Know when the key games should be happening during the week. Happy I found it eventually, but holy cow, took way too many clicks and dead ends. Why ain’t this stuff easier to find in Riyadh? Saved my screenshots, hopefully don’t lose them before finals day. Remembered the finals start time is fuzzy – gotta look that one up again later, just to be safe.
