Okay, so I want to talk about this thing I got into back in 1993. Man, 1993, that feels like a lifetime ago. I was really into video games, and there was this whole scene around remaking old games. I remember Atari was doing their thing with the “2000” series, like Tempest 2000 and all that. And then Hasbro got into it after Atari. I even watched the Super Mario Bros. movie that was out in May. Pretty cool, pretty cool.

Ricks 1993: How It Changed the Game Forever? Heres the Full Story.

I got this idea to mess around with some old game code. Not sure why, just felt like it. I didn’t know much, just started poking around. I found some folks online who were into the same thing. There were no guidebooks. We were just sharing tips and hints, you know, figuring things out as we went. It was a real community, passing notes back and forth.

  • I started digging into this game, right?
  • Spent hours just trying to understand how it worked.
  • Found some old code online and started messing with it.
  • No idea what I was doing, just trying stuff out.

I remember one time I spent, like, a whole week trying to change the colors in this game. Sounds dumb, I know, but it was a big deal back then! I finally figured it out, felt like a genius. The color is changed successfully! I immediately shared it with those online friends.

Then there was this other time I tried to add a new level to the game. That was a whole other beast. I tried and I tried and I tried, the code was a mess, and I was just guessing most of the time. But you know what? I eventually got it to work. It was buggy as hell, but it worked! Those were some good times. I think these experiences are interesting.

Looking back, it’s crazy to think how much time I spent on this stuff.

But it was fun, you know? It was like solving a puzzle, a big, complicated puzzle. I learned a lot, though. Not just about game code, but about problem-solving, about being persistent. I really enjoy the time I spent on it. So yeah, that’s my little story about my gaming days in 1993. No big life lessons, just some good memories of messing around with old games and figuring things out with a bunch of online buddies. Those were the days.
