Well, let me tell you about this crazy experience I had at the Masters this year. It was wild, man! So, I’m Neal Shipley, and somehow I managed to become the Low Amateur at the Masters. Yeah, me! It still feels surreal to say that.

The whole thing started like any other tournament, I guess. I was just trying to play my best, you know? But things got real interesting when I got paired with Tiger Woods for the final round. Tiger Woods, man! I mean, I grew up watching this guy, idolizing him. And there I was, playing alongside him at Augusta National. It was insane.

And the craziest part? I actually beat him! I shot one-over-par on the last day, and let me tell you, it felt like the round of my life. Outdueling my childhood idol at the Masters? It was a dream come true. I kept my game simple, stayed focus, and somehow it happened.

But the real story, the one everyone’s been talking about, happened later in Butler Cabin. Picture this: I’m sitting there, surrounded by cameras, in this weirdly small room they call the Butler Cabin. I was so nervous. I had just played the round of my life and suddenly, I was in the spotlight. Big time.

So, there I am, trying to act cool, but inside, I’m freaking out. I’m pretty sure I was sweating bullets. And my eyes, they just wouldn’t stay still. I kept looking at the teleprompter, trying to figure out what I was supposed to say or do. I was terrified of saying something stupid on live TV. Can you blame me?

Afterwards, it became this whole meme thing. People were analyzing my every move, my every glance. Some folks even thought Tiger had slipped me a note, which, for the record, did not happen. I wish! It would have made this even more crazy! But yeah, I was just a nervous wreck, trying not to embarrass myself.

  • First, I got to play at the Masters. That alone was a huge deal.

  • Then, I played with Tiger Woods. My childhood hero.

  • I actually beat Tiger. Still can’t believe that happened.

  • Finally, the Butler Cabin. The most nerve-wracking few minutes of my life.

I talked about it later on The Pat McAfee Show, trying to explain what was going through my head. It was just pure nerves, man. I was so focused on not messing up that I couldn’t even think straight. I just kept practicing every word in my mind so I wouldn’t stutter in front of the camera.

All in all, it was an unforgettable experience. From the highs of playing with Tiger to the lows of almost losing it in Butler Cabin, it was a rollercoaster. But hey, I came out of it as the Low Amateur, and that’s something I’ll cherish forever. It was a wild ride, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

What a Crazy Week!

Looking back, it’s still hard to believe it all happened. It was like living in a movie or something. One minute I’m just a regular golfer, and the next I’m playing at the Masters, beating Tiger Woods, and then becoming a meme because of my nervous eyes in Butler Cabin. Life is wild, right?

But you know what? I wouldn’t change a thing. It was an incredible experience, and it taught me a lot about myself and about handling pressure. Plus, I got a pretty cool story to tell. How many people can say they’ve had a week like that? It’s definitely one for the books, and I’m just grateful I got to be a part of it all.
