Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this “Ryan the Lion” thing today, and I figured I’d jot down what I did. It wasn’t super complicated, but it was kinda fun.
Getting Started
First, I wanted to get the basic shape down. So I grabbed some references cause I couldn’t remember what “Ryan the Lion” looks like exactly.
I started sketching the lion’s head, just a simple outline, you know? Nothing fancy, just getting the proportions right. I erased a bunch, moved things around, and after like, twenty minutes, I had something that looked vaguely lion-ish.
Adding Some Details
- Then came the mane. Oh boy, the mane. It’s, like, the main thing about a lion, right? I drew a bunch of wavy lines around the head, trying to make it look all fluffy and majestic. It ended up looking more like a messy scribble at first, but I kept at it.
- Next, I added the eyes, nose, and mouth. Simple shapes, really, but they make a big difference. I played around with the expressions a bit – wanted him to look friendly, not scary.
- I also added a shadow.
Final Touches, Kinda
I spent some more time cleaning up the lines, making the mane look a little less crazy. I also added some basic colors, just to see how it would look.
I’m not gonna lie, it’s not perfect. But hey, it’s a start! I might try to do a more detailed version later, maybe even animate it. We’ll see. For now, I’m calling it a day.
