Okay, here’s my blog post about my photo journey to Lakeside Golf Club, written in a casual, first-person style:

So, I’ve been wanting to up my photography game, especially with landscapes and, you know, “action” shots. I’d heard of Lakeside Golf Club – supposed to be super scenic, lots of rolling hills, water features, the whole nine yards. I figured, perfect opportunity to practice!
Getting Started
First thing, I charged up all my camera batteries. Made that mistake before… nothing worse than getting to a beautiful spot and your camera dies. I also packed a few different lenses – a wide-angle for those big, sweeping views, and a zoom lens to get closer to the golfers (without, like, getting beaned by a golf ball).
The Scouting Mission
I got to Lakeside early, around sunrise. The light was amazing – that golden hour glow, you know? I spent the first hour or so just wandering around, getting a feel for the place. I jotted down some notes, like:
- Hole 3 has a great view of the lake.
- The bunkers on Hole 7 look really dramatic from the side.
- Might be able to get some cool shots of golfers teeing off on Hole 10 from behind.
Basically, I was just trying to find the best angles and figure out where the sun would be throughout the day.
The Action
Once the golfers started showing up, it was game on! I tried to be discreet, you know, not get in anyone’s way or mess up their swing. I experimented with different shutter speeds – freezing the action with a fast shutter speed, and trying to get some motion blur with a slower one.

The toughest part? Predicting where the ball was going to go! I definitely missed a few good shots because I was pointed in the wrong direction. But hey, that’s part of the learning process, right?
Wrap-up
By the end of the day, I was exhausted, but I had a ton of photos. I got some great scenic shots, a few decent action shots, and a whole lot of blurry ones that’ll never see the light of day. I definitely can use everything to show off that I learned a lot!
All in all, it was a super fun and useful experience. I can’t wait to go back and try again – maybe with a better understanding of golf next time! I think this is a great example about how much I love photography!
