Alright, so today I wanted to chat a bit about my recent Pokemon Go adventure, specifically chasing that elusive shiny Sandile. Man, oh man, that little critter gave me a run for my money, let me tell you.
It all started, I guess, when I realized I just didn’t have one. You see other folks with their cool shinies, and Sandile, with its slightly different, kinda washed-out sandy look in its shiny form, just looked neat to me. Plus, you know, bragging rights a little bit, right? So, I decided, “Okay, I’m gonna focus on this.”
The Grind Begins
First thing I did was check how to even get Sandile. Mostly, it was those 12km eggs. Ugh. You know what that means: battling Team GO Rocket Leaders. So, my routine became: find Grunts, get Mysterious Components, build a Rocket Radar, find a Leader, beat ’em, get an egg, and then… walk. A lot. I must’ve walked hundreds of kilometers, I swear. My poor legs!
I also kept an eye out for any events that might boost its appearance or if it ever popped up in raids. Sometimes they do those special raid weekends, but no luck for Sandile while I was actively hunting. Field research tasks too – always checking those, hoping one might offer a Sandile encounter. It was a slow, painstaking process. Lots of other Pokemon hatched, of course. Some good, some… well, more Pokedex filler.
There were days I’d almost give up. You hatch like, five 12km eggs in a row, and not a single Sandile, let alone a shiny one. It’s frustrating, you know? You start thinking, “Is this even possible? Am I just wasting my time and incubators?” But then you see someone else post theirs, and the fire gets lit again.
The “No Way!” Moment
So, fast forward to a few days ago. I was just out for my usual evening walk, trying to hatch another batch of eggs. Nothing special, just going through the motions. One egg was about to pop. I wasn’t even paying super close attention, probably scrolling through something else on my phone. Then the hatch animation started. Pop! And there it was.
At first, I just saw a Sandile. “Oh, cool, candy,” I thought. But then… wait a minute. The color. It looked a bit… off. Lighter. And then I saw them. The sparkles! The little shiny animation! I think I actually said “No way!” out loud. A couple walking by probably thought I was a bit nuts.
My heart did that little jump. You know the feeling. After all that effort, all those kilometers, all those darn Rocket battles. There it was. A shiny Sandile. I tapped on it quick to make sure, and yep, the little shiny icon was there by its name.
The Aftermath and Thoughts
The IVs weren’t god-tier, not gonna lie. Pretty average, actually. But you know what? I didn’t even care that much. A shiny is a shiny, especially one you’ve worked for. It’s more about the collection and the hunt for me sometimes.
I haven’t decided if I’ll evolve it yet. Krokorok and Krookodile have cool shiny forms too, that sort of olive green. I need more Sandile candy anyway, so I’ve got time to think about it. For now, it’s just nice to have it, to scroll past it in my Pokemon storage and remember the moment it finally showed up.
So yeah, that was my journey to get the shiny Sandile. It took a while, a lot of walking, and a good bit of patience. But hey, that’s part of the fun of Pokemon Go, isn’t it? The thrill of the chase, and that sweet, sweet feeling when you finally get what you’re after. Now, what to hunt next… Hmm.
