Alright folks, grab a coffee, because this one was a wild ride. So, yesterday, chilling online, this crazy idea pops into my head: What if The Simpsons actually predicted real Super Bowls? Seriously, that show’s been on forever, throwing out random future stuff. Figured it was all jokes, but curiosity got the best of me.

Time to Dig In
I fired up the laptop, basically started diving deep. Searched stuff like “Simpsons Super Bowl predictions real?” and “Simpsons got it right football”. Man, the internet had stories. Lots of noise, tons of crazy conspiracy stuff I skimmed right past. But then, five things kept popping up again and again as legit, verified by people way more obsessive than me.
My “Holy Cow!” Moments
Seeing the actual clips next to what happened in real life? Mind blowing. Here’s what made my jaw drop:
- The Broncos Win Against… Themselves? Remember that episode with the Denver Broncos playing a game? The kicker? They showed them playing against a team with helmets that looked suspiciously like a Bronco’s butt? Wild. Then, years later, Super Bowl XXXIV happens: Broncos win! Against the Atlanta Falcons, whose helmets totally do have this weird bird design that, sideways or in a quick shot? Yep, kinda looks like a horse’s rear end. I almost fell out of my chair laughing.
- Bush the Elder Dies Before a Game? One throwaway gag mentioned a President Bush dying before a big game. Okay, dark humor, whatever. Fast forward: George H.W. Bush actually passed away the day before the 2019 conference championship games. Not the Super Bowl itself, but so close to the big event, and involving a president named Bush. That coincidence was seriously eerie.
- Saint Louis Gets Screwed? Twice? There was this whole episode riffing on the Rams moving to LA. Later, the actual Rams did move from Saint Louis to LA. Even weirder? Years before that, they had a gag about Saint Louis losing the team. Then in real life, Saint Louis lost the Rams. Spooky, right? The show kinda mocked that situation twice before it played out.
- Madden and Theismann Talking Heads? This one felt meta. An episode had John Madden and Phil Simms doing commentary together. Years later, guess who CBS paired up in the booth for Super Bowls? Madden and… Simms! Not Simms and someone else, but that specific pairing. Totally nailed the broadcasting vibe.
- Tom Brady’s Weird Future? This was the biggest head-scratcher. An episode showed Tom Brady, decades older, stepping out of a flying car, announcing a big comeback after getting sacked, saying he could go “for 20 or 30 more years.” At the time? Silly cartoon nonsense. But then… Brady actually played way longer than anyone thought possible, switching teams late in his career, and almost did play close to 30 years total! The flying car hasn’t shown up yet, but the longevity part? Uncanny.
So… Did They Predict It?
After watching clips, reading old news articles, and triple-checking dates? Honestly, some of these matches are way too specific and timed weirdly well to be just random luck. Especially the Rams moving stuff and Brady’s absurd career length. The Saint Louis thing happening twice? Come on. The President Bush timing? Way too close.
My take? The writers were probably just being ridiculous, throwing spaghetti at the wall. But somehow, through some bizarre mix of pop culture awareness, satire, and maybe just getting the vibe of things right… they accidentally called a few shots with scary accuracy. No crystal ball, just crazy good (and lucky) satire that sometimes stuck the landing in reality. Freaked me out a little, I gotta say!
