My Morning Routine Checking T-Law News
Woke up this morning thinking about Trevor Lawrence, you know, after that scary ankle twist last week. Grabbed my phone still half-asleep, first thing I did was tap open my ESPN app. Figured that’d be the fastest way. Scrolled through the headlines – nada. Lots of other junk, though, playoff scenarios or whatever.

Next up, went straight to the Jaguars official team website, . Sometimes teams put out injury reports early. Clicked the ‘News’ section. Saw articles about practice, some interviews, fan stuff… but nothing specific about Trevor’s status today. Kinda disappointing. Team sites can be slow with injury news.
Remembered how Twitter (or X, whatever) is usually faster than molasses. Logged in, used the search bar: “Trevor Lawrence injury” filtered to ‘Latest’. Boom. Tons of tweets. But most were from yesterday, people arguing or speculating. Scrolled down more. Found a couple of Jaguars beat reporters I follow. One, Mike Peterson (solid source usually), had tweeted an hour ago: “Lawrence not practicing today. Ankle soreness being managed. Coach Pederson says day-to-day.” Okay, that’s something! Bookmarked his tweet.
- Scrolled further down, trying to see if others confirmed.
- Found another reporter, Sam Fowler, saying basically the same thing but adding “Walked off field slowly after limited work.”
- No panic tweets, no “out for season” nonsense. That was a relief.
Last stop was NFL Network on TV. Flipped it on while making coffee. Caught some sports talk talking head segment. They briefly mentioned Lawrence: “Jags being cautious, ankle still bothering him, monitor practice participation this week.” Basically echoing the beat reporters. Nothing new, but felt good hearing it confirmed live, you know?
Finished my coffee, feeling kinda annoyed that I had to hunt across like four different places just to get a basic update. The official sources lagged, the news apps were full of clutter, and Twitter required sifting through garbage tweets. Found the local beat reporters the most reliable and quickest, hands down. Made a mental note to turn on notifications for Mike and Sam specifically next time an injury happens. Gotta streamline this process – ain’t nobody got time to check everywhere! Seems the “best way” is just trusting a couple good beat guys on Twitter and being patient for the official report later.
