Alright, so folks have been asking me, or maybe I just imagined they were asking, about how I managed to snag one of those Equinox free day pass things. You know, Equinox, that gym that costs an arm and a leg. I’m always up for trying stuff, especially if it’s free, so I figured, why not?
First thing I did, pretty straightforward, just hopped on my computer. Typed something like ‘Equinox free trial’ or ‘Equinox guest pass’ into the search bar. You know how it is, gotta do a bit of digging sometimes.
Found their official site eventually. They usually have a section for this, buried somewhere, or sometimes it’s a pop-up ad. This time, I think I had to fill out a little form online. Your basic info: name, email, phone number. They always want your phone number, don’t they?
And boy, do they use it! Not even five minutes later, I swear, my phone rings. An unknown number. Figured it was them. And yup, a sales guy, super enthusiastic. Wanted to tell me all about Equinox, the classes, the fancy towels, you name it. I mostly just nodded along, trying to get to the ‘free pass’ part.
He asked a bunch of questions, probably trying to see if I was serious or just a freebie hunter like, well, me. I played along, told him I was ‘considering options,’ ‘looking for a premium experience,’ all that jazz. You gotta play the game a little, right?
Eventually, we got to scheduling the actual visit. He asked what day worked best. I picked a weekday, figured it might be less crowded, or maybe I just had a free afternoon. He locked it in, sent me a confirmation email. Told me to bring an ID.

So, the big day arrives.
I show up, a bit curious. Walked in, place looked pretty slick, I gotta admit. Went to the front desk, said I had a day pass appointment. They checked my ID, had me sign a waiver – standard procedure. Then, they gave me a quick tour. Showed me the locker rooms, the machines, the pool. It was all very… polished.
I did my workout. Used a few machines, tried to look like I knew what I was doing. The equipment was top-notch, no doubt about that. And yeah, the towels were indeed fluffy.
After I was done, all sweaty and feeling like I’d accomplished something, another staff member ‘casually’ came over. Started chatting about membership options. The prices they quoted, whew! Let’s just say it’s not in my budget right now, or probably ever, if I’m being honest.
- I politely listened.
- Said I’d think about it.
- And then I made my escape.
But hey, I got my free workout in. Got to see what all the fuss was about. It’s a nice gym, for sure. If you’ve got the cash, go for it. For me, it was just a fun little experiment, a story to tell. And that’s how I got my Equinox free day pass. Just a bit of online searching, a phone call, and a willingness to listen to a sales pitch. Worth it for a freebie, I’d say.
