Alright, buckle up, Guardians! Today I’m gonna walk you through my latest Destiny 2 deep dive: cracking “The Past” mission. This ain’t your average patrol, lemme tell ya.

Destiny 2 The Past: The Best Weapons and Gear to Use Guide.

It all started when I was just grinding some strikes, yeah? Standard Tuesday. Then, boom, this weird quest dropped. Something about timelines, Vex shenanigans, the usual end-of-the-world kinda stuff. So, naturally, I was in.

First step, I had to head to the Tangled Shore. Remember that place? Dusty, full of Fallen dregs, the whole shebang. My Ghost was yapping about finding some “temporal anomalies.” Basically, space-time rifts that looked like someone spilled blue raspberry slushies all over the landscape.

I spent a good hour just zipping around on my Sparrow, scanning for these anomalies. The game gave me some vague hints, like “near the Spider’s hideout” or “by the crashed Ketch,” but nothing concrete. It was a real scavenger hunt, and I almost rage-quit a couple of times. But hey, I’m a Guardian, not a quitter (usually).

Once I found all the anomalies, things got weird. Like, REALLY weird. I started seeing ghosts… not the friendly, floating robot kind, but actual ECHOES of past events. It was like I was watching old memories play out in front of me. There were Fallen battling Hive, Guardians fighting over loot, all sorts of chaotic stuff.

The mission then told me to “align the timelines.” This involved standing in these glowing circles and shooting at specific targets that only appeared in the echoes. It was tricky, because I had to figure out the right order to shoot them in, and the enemies were still trying to blast me into next week. Took me a few tries, but I eventually got the hang of it.

Next up, the game threw me into a proper mission area. I don’t remember the exact location, but it was all Vex architecture: lots of shiny white corridors, rotating platforms, and annoying Goblins trying to flank me. I had to fight my way through waves of Vex, solve some light puzzle mechanics, and generally avoid falling into bottomless pits. You know, the usual Destiny stuff.

The climax of “The Past” involved a boss fight against some souped-up Minotaur. This guy was a real pain in the butt. He had a shield that absorbed all my damage, and he kept teleporting around, shooting me with Void blasts. I ended up having to use my Super a couple of times just to survive. In the end, I downed him with my trusty Sleeper Simulant. Good riddance!

Lessons Learned:

  • Patience is key. Don’t rush the anomalies.
  • Pay attention to the environmental cues during the timeline alignment phase. They hint at the shooting order.
  • Sleeper Simulant is still a beast.

All in all, “The Past” was a fun and challenging mission. It had a good mix of exploration, combat, and puzzle-solving. Plus, the lore implications were pretty interesting. Definitely worth checking out if you haven’t already!
