Okay, so I jumped into the Food City 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway the other day. Man, what a ride that was! I started off feeling pretty good, you know? Got the car all set up, strapped in, and ready to roll. But things went sideways pretty quickly.

Right from the get-go, I started having radio issues. Seriously, it was like my team was on the other side of the planet. I’d key up the mic, say something, and then… nothing. Or worse, I’d get some garbled mess back. It was frustrating as hell, let me tell you.
The struggle begins…
We tried everything to fix it. Swapped out my helmet, messed with the wiring, you name it. At one point, I even had to swap helmets mid-race! Can you believe that? And to make matters worse, in all the chaos, I lost my glasses! Yep, the team accidentally took them during the first pit stop. So there I was, driving around Bristol, half-blind and unable to talk to my crew. Not exactly ideal, right?
But hey, I’m not one to give up easily. I kept pushing, kept driving, trying to make the best of a bad situation. It was tough, no doubt about it. I mean, imagine trying to race at Bristol without being able to communicate with your team or see clearly. It’s like trying to fight with one hand tied behind your back and a blindfold on!
Still alive!
Despite all the drama, I managed to claw my way back up to a seventh-place finish. Not too shabby, considering the circumstances. Of course, I would’ve loved to have done better, but hey, that’s racing. Sometimes things just don’t go your way. The important thing is that I didn’t give up, I kept fighting until the end.
So, that’s my story from Bristol. It was a wild ride, full of ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything. It’s experiences like these that make you appreciate the good times even more. And who knows, maybe next time I’ll have better luck with the radio… and my glasses!

- Tried different helmets.
- Checked all the wires.
- Lost my glasses somewhere in between.
- Finished at seventh place.
What a day! This is a race I won’t be forgetting anytime soon, that’s for sure.
