So yesterday I got this question in my comments: “Yo, what are Christian Scotland Williamson’s best performances? Dude’s low-key fire!” Got me thinking – I knew him from a couple shows but wasn’t sure about his full range. Decided to deep dive properly instead of winging it.

The Starting Point
First thing I did was pull up my streaming accounts. Started typing his name into the search bar, feeling kinda annoyed when autocomplete didn’t pop up immediately. Had to spell out the whole damn thing letter by letter. My coffee went cold doing this, classic.
Tracking Down His Shows
Scrolled through everything he’d been in, making notes on my phone like a madman:
- “The Deuce” – remembered him as that sleazy club owner with the slick hair
- “Carnival Row” – totally forgot he played that snooty politician guy
- “Poldark” – wait, was that him as the mine owner? Had to check IMDB to confirm
Got sidetracked when my Wi-Fi cut out twice. Nearly threw my laptop when buffering messed up fight scenes in Carnival Row. Took me like three hours just to rewatch key episodes across different platforms.
My Totally Unscientific Ranking
After replaying scenes back-to-back, here’s what hit different:
- Carnival Row S1E5: Dude absolutely murdered the “I am the law” monologue. Chills.
- The Deuce S3E2: That scene where his character tries bribing a cop? Perfect slimeball energy.
- Poldark S4: Hated his character but loved how he made me hate him. Weird flex.
The Verdict
Honestly? His best stuff happens when he plays rich creeps with power. Something about how he does that fake polite smile while his eyes stay dead cold? Chef’s kiss. Wish he got more lead roles though – studios keep wasting him in side parts.
