Okay, here is my sharing about “can you kick the ball in basketball”.

So today I was messing around with a basketball, just shooting some hoops in my backyard. I got to thinking, “Can you actually kick the ball in basketball?” I mean, we always use our hands, right? So I started to try it out.
First, I tried dribbling with my feet. What a disaster! The ball just went everywhere. I kicked it too hard, too soft, it bounced off at weird angles. It was pretty much impossible to control. I chased the ball around the yard more than I actually dribbled it.
Then, I thought, maybe I can kick it into the basket. I stood under the hoop and tried to kick the ball up and in. Nope. The ball just bounced off the backboard or missed the hoop completely. I tried a few more times, adjusting my angle and power, but it was no use. I just couldn’t get the right touch.
- Dribbling with feet – Failed
- Kicking into the basket – Failed
- Passing to myself by kicking – Hilarious failure
My attempts:
After a while, I remembered reading something about the rules of basketball online. It said something like, “Kicking the ball or striking it with any part of the leg is a violation when it is an intentional act. The ball accidentally striking the foot.” So, I guess you’re not really supposed to kick the ball on purpose.
So, based on my highly unscientific experiment, kicking the ball in basketball is a no-go. It’s super hard to control, and it’s probably against the rules anyway. I’ll stick to using my hands, thanks. It’s way more fun and a lot less frustrating.
