Okay, so the other day I was itching to get out on the green, and I remembered someone mentioning Bunker Hill Golf Course. I’d never been, so I figured, why not? Let’s give this place a shot.

First thing I did was hop on my phone and look it up – “Bunker Hill Golf Course MN”. Found the address easy peasy. I was a little worried about getting a tee time, you know, sometimes it’s a real pain, but their website was pretty straightforward. I managed to snag a time for later that afternoon. Score!

Getting There and First Impressions

The drive over was no problem, pretty easy to find with the GPS guiding the way. Pulled up, and the place looked… well, it looked like a good, solid golf course. Nothing super fancy, but definitely well-maintained. The clubhouse was inviting enough, and the staff were friendly when I checked in.

I grabbed a cart – gotta save the energy for the swings, right? – and headed out to the first tee.

Hitting the Course

The course itself? I’d say it was pretty enjoyable. A good mix of challenges, some tricky water hazards, a few strategically placed bunkers (naturally!), and some nice, open fairways. I’m no pro, by any means, but I felt like I could get some decent shots in.

  • Hole 4: This one was a par 3 with a big pond right in front of the green. Nearly dunked my ball, but managed to just clear it. Phew!
  • Hole 9: A long par 5 that really tested my driver. Felt good to let one rip!
  • Hole 15: This one had a dogleg left, making it tricky to figure out the best approach. Had to think it through a bit.

I won’t bore you with every single hole, but overall, I had a pretty good round. The greens were in good shape, rolled true, and the fairways were nicely mowed. It wasn’t overly crowded, which was a plus, so the pace of play was decent.

Wrapping Up

After I finished up, I swung by the clubhouse again to grab a quick drink. They had a little snack bar area, nothing fancy, but it hit the spot after a few hours on the course.

All in all, I’d say Bunker Hill is a solid choice for a round of golf. It’s not going to blow you away with luxury, but it’s a well-kept course, the staff are friendly, and the price was reasonable. I’d definitely go back again. If you’re in the area and looking for a place to play, give it a try! You might just enjoy it.
