Okay, so everyone’s buzzing about the Super Bowl, right? And you know, the game is cool and all, but the REAL fun for me is the betting. Specifically, I’ve been messing around with the over/under. Let me tell you about my little experiment this year.
Getting Started
First things first, I didn’t just jump in blind. No way. I started by looking at past Super Bowls. I mean, how else are you supposed to make an educated guess? I spent a good couple of hours just scrolling through scores from previous years. It’s kinda tedious, but hey, gotta do the work, right?

After getting a general feel, I started looking at the specific teams playing this year. I checked out their regular season scores, how many points they usually score, how many they let the other team score…you get the idea. It’s all about finding patterns, seeing if they’re a high-scoring team or if they play more defensively.
- Regular Season Stats: I literally made a list of each team’s scores for every game. Old school, pen and paper style!
- Offensive vs. Defensive Power: I tried to figure out if the teams were known for scoring a lot, or for stopping the other team from scoring.
- Head to headI also looked back at the games between both teams, to see how the two teams playing scored each other.
Making the Bet
So, after all that digging, I had to make a decision. The official over/under number was, like, 47.5 or something. Based on my “research” (and, let’s be honest, a bit of gut feeling), I decided to go with the… I won’t tell you yet! I went to my usual betting app (nothing fancy) and placed my bet. It wasn’t a HUGE amount, just enough to make things interesting.
The Waiting Game
Man, the wait is the worst part! The whole game, I’m there, screaming at the TV, counting every single point. It was a rollercoaster, I tell ya. One minute I’m thinking, “I’m a genius!” The next, I’m like, “Well, there goes my money.”
The Result
Okay, okay, I’ll spill. Drumroll, please…I took the UNDER! And guess what? It hit! The final score was lower than the projected number. It worked. Feels good, man. Feels real good.
It’s not about getting rich; it is a game after all. It’s about the thrill, the challenge, the bragging rights. And this time, I got ’em! Now, onto planning for next year’s Super Bowl… maybe I’ll try a different kind of bet. Who knows!
